Sunny(?) Sunday

Well its Sunday. Is it going to be lazy Sunday? NO! Was up early but caught up on last nights TV. Headed to the pool just before eight. Got there a little later than would have liked but hey still managed 50 in an hour. Had to head home as Steve had to head to work.

Yesterday we went to Caroline and Emily's house after dance class. Mary, Ellen and Jennifer went along as well. Caroline was fab to me and made me a special lunch! We had a good chat, putting the world to rights! We are going to try and get to the cinema this month. Must get that organised. Nice to have a few female friends around you trust and can chat to. We all have a few issues, different backgrounds and only the kids in common but that can sometimes be all that's needed to make a "connection". Went shopping for a few foody bits after and £60 late we left the shop! Thought I supposed to be saving money eating less.

Friday went to gym after school. Another disaster with Emma's class. But they got them in eventually! Managed 32 lengths while she was in class and then a swim after with Emma.
Been good so far this weekend. Lots of tidying to do today before the cable guy comes! Also Mum's birthday on 4th. Our 20 year anniversary of meeting on 8th. Where have the years gone!
WI tomorrow. Have to go to Leeds for a meeting in am. Toying with heading to stamp it up demo tomorrow night what to do!?! not sure will get a swim in but hope weather holds for another walk with Jackie and Daniel.

As I was swimming today was thinking of setting some goals and rewards tied in with my exercise and dieting.

5 Goals
3 stones plus by Xmas
at goal for 39th birthday ( oh that will be a challenge!)
2 Gym trips a week and 2 swims a week plus 1 walk over 30 mins each week by September.
Sub 60 mins mile swim by end of July.
Walk to school 4 times in July - only 3 weeks left eek!
5 Rewards
Loss of 1 stone - Atonement DVD ( not that far off I hope!)
Loss of 1.5 stones - £50 crafts purchase ( new cricut cart me thinks!)
Loss of 2 stones - IPOD or similar to use at the Gym
Loss of 2.5 stones - £100 on new clothes (hope will be Autumn time!)
Loss of 3 stones - full body massage

Will revisit these each month and add and cross off.

It is coming up to 1 month now. So on that day will post my What is going well, what is helping, what not so well and what is hindering. I hope to reflect on how to get over any slumps!

First mile of many!

Well today I managed to swim a mile! yes 64 full lengths! I was aiming for 50 but when I got there I thought darn it I will do the mile as I felt up to it! My knee was sore with the float but just did breast stroke instead. it took me about 70 mins. Hope to speed up if going to make that goal of a mile in 30 mins in a year's time!

Took Emma to the play centre so I could catch up on some feedback emails. I have had some great feedback from Gemma and Sinead so far. Luckily the deadline has been extended but must get my request out soon for others outside of the team.

Great day on WW. Think only had 15 points and had my tea already! some snacks later I think to make it up to near points. clothes are feeling quite loose at moment. cannot wait until they completely drop off!LOL! My head is so right at the moment! Hope to do the aqua class tomorrow am. DVD's tried to be delivered today - I was at the gym. doh!

bye bye sky!

Well we have gone and done it. We have signed with Virgin Media. We will save £50 plus a month by doing that. More scrapping/crafting goodies then eh?!
Steven will have the pleasure of giving them the good news! he he! I will do other stuff boo boo!
They are coming next week - lots of tidying next weekend then!

Took Emma to the gym after school today. Got her to do the space hopper class. It was funny to see her bouncing on a bright pink one. She lacked a little confidence with the other kids but is keen to try again! We then went swimming afterwards. Not much swimming more bobbing about for me. MUST go tomorrow morning and want to do pilates after work. We will see. Bought 4 exercise DVD's this week. hope I get on with them as may be best way to fit in something every day!

Good day on WW. Yummy lunch - smoked salmon and soft cheese JP and then YUMMY roasted veg pasta for tea. V nice. And did manage my 2 ltr of water today.

No crafting today. too busy. hey ho.

planning on doing the July challenge where you journal each day in a 4x6 size and bind it at the end. will make a start at the weekend.

bye for today.

and finally Emma!

This was Emma today. The acorns were a gift for the squirrels.

still cannot get the pic of Emma to load!

How cool is this picture of Daniel! This was the first picture!

Another cool one of Daniel!

struggling to upload others. will try another post.

WI week 3 - happy dance!

Well its Monday so that is weigh in day!

Fully intended to go swimming today at 6.30 but only woke up at 6,15 so not enough time so started some cards to finish Jackie's present. Thought about doing the dance mat aerobics but far too noisy at 6.30 am!

Bought an exercise video from ebay - hope it comes tomorrow!

So after school had a huge need to DO something that would give me some activity points. Jackie and Daniel were up for a walk in Ogden as well so we did that. we took the more scenic route which includes a hill I usually go no where near! Thanks Jackie for dragging me there! Took this fantastic shot of Daniel while we were there.

Steven was late home - thought I would miss the leader doing my weigh in. We were like ships as he drove up the drive I drove off! I just made the leader to weigh in. I have lost another 2.5lbs! that makes 10lbs in 3 weeks. Very happy. Been on esource and the ladies have been very supportive there! May well post my blog details some day there! I hope that I can inspire others as much as they do me! One lady got to 50 tonight which is fab! Just realised I am 20% there! I think I am over 1/3 way to 10% as well!

One lady on the e source suggested doing a list of the things we are aiming for when we get to goal. I cannot quite visualise that at the moment but may be doing it will give me a glimpse.

Being at Goal I am hoping for:
Being able to walk up and down to school - no problem.
Going for a run in the morning.
Swimming a mile in 1/2hr.
Taking Emma for a walk in the Dales for days out rather than sitting by a river!
More energy - to burn!
No painful knees on the stairs
a bath in our bath which i currently think is narrow!
bikini?!
comfortable on plane to Florida
no swollen ankles when i fly - or 8 days into the holiday
running around Disney not plodding
Clothes that I can choose what I want in the colours i want rather than what fits me
Maybe getting rid of glasses - do I hide behind them?!

Think that's it at the moment - will revisit in a month!

Going to do this every week - WWW, WNSW, Target
What went well
one swim - 48 lengths in 55 mins
one decent walk
two family swims
staying under points
no feeling hungry
plenty of water and NO TEA
new recipes tried - Quiche!

What Not So Well
a couple of weak points when I just ran in the kitchen which I had the points to cope with
did not expand the exercise as I would have liked to - GYM and PILATES

Targets
3 swims plus 50 lengths
Gym one visit
Walk to school one day
Stay in points each day
try exercise dvd when arrives
One new recipe

not going to put pics on this post as was not working. will post pics on next post

Gosh Saturday already!

Another busy week.

Wednesday - worked at home and late into the evening as Steven took Emma swimming.

Thursday - work but then off to craft club when Steven got home. Managed a card and a card book for Jackie's 40th. almost finished as bind it all was not there! will finish today and put some photos up on here.

Friday - very early start due to work. all passed resit exams which helps. Took Emma to her dance class with the intention of going to gym but had some work calls to do. We went swimming after. Emma has such an imagination with very few tools to lead to that. Tea at the gym so did not get home until 7.30. Thank god as Steve was having a chippie tea and am sure I would have weakened. Had a right go at the inland revenue and Sky plus today. amazingly they have relented and engineer coming on Sunday am ( after Steven talked to them!). We will be getting a new box if cannot be fixed.

Saturday - early start - taking Emma to Dance this morning. sky is grey so who knows what we will do for the rest of the day.

catch you later.

Tuesday

Woke up far too late to go swimming at 7 as could not get to sleep last night. Brain was buzzing after looking at Virgin Media.

Just as well I did school run as Steven was worried about getting to work today on time. Went into Leeds office today. Attended the parenting class. Not sure what I think about it really. Need to read the book I think. The lady was good but I missed the start as their was a mix up on start time - JIs were wrong.

Chill out after school. The Ice Cream man was back today at school with a shiny new van after his accident outside of school about 6 weeks ago. He seems okay. Will have a better chat another day. Emma has missed her 99s! Not really a bad thing.

Made a ham quiche for tea. First time I have made one - ever. Had to borrow milk from next door as ours had gone off! Must get fridge looked at! Tasted okay I think. More seasoning next time I think. Well that's 3 of the next 9 meals sorted anyway!

Steven home late tonight. Better get the house a bit tidy!

Weigh in day!

Busy busy again today! Got up early as had exam results due out at 8 am. They came out at 7 which helped the day along. Wanted to go swimming but thought would go at lunch time if I started earlier this morning. Was not to be!

I finished work early to go food shopping. I had planned the weeks menu yesterday while surfing for recipes.

Planned to go swimming after school with Emma. We made it to the gym nice and early and managed to persuade her to do a few lengths but some of her friends came so I chatted with a couple of mums.

She played in ball pool for a while but managed to get her to go and feed the now HUGE goslings at the pond.

Made it to the WI. I have lost 2.5 lbs this week! Not as good as last week which was 5 lbs but to be expected given where we are in the Luna cycle if you know what I mean! all motivated for another week - I hope. So that's my first silver star on line. YEAH! But at the meeting they do not count my first 5lb! Grrrr! well lets hope that I get a silver star at the meeting next week. I am sure I can do 4.5 lbs if i follow the plan and go swimming 3 times and a walk all other days! was even thinking could do with getting bike out. My head must be in the right place! Oh I managed 46 lengths in 55 mins yesterday! Getting better.

Parenting class at work tomorrow should be interesting!

Spoke to Mary at the weekend. Unfortunately Phil did get listed. He has been moaning about his employer for ages so I hope he gets a big fat payout, 2 months garden leave to do the garden, and then walks into a perfect position at Mary's place! Fingers crossed for them.

Sky plus still annoying us to death! another call this evening. We have threatened to leave them. We will see where we get to with this one!

thats all for now. Dishwasher to load, shop to unpack. See busy busy!

Them duckies!

Lets try and do some photos from this week!

For one reason or another after Steven came home on Sunday we did not make it to the planned picnic Emma wanted to take up in Linton. So on Tuesday after school, Emma and I drove up there. It took an hour to get there!

The baby ducks had grown so much! It was obvious that there had been only a few visitors that day as they were mad keen for any crumbs we could give them. Emma was squealing with delight as the little blighters jumped all over me and pecked at my toes! The Daddy duck was giving me the real eye in this picture!

As you can see it is a lovely spot. If you look really carefully you can see Emma, a little pink dot playing in the river!

A lovely way to spend a couple of hours.
Well seemed to manage that. next step find out how to move the location around.

First time - lets hope its easy!

Well here we go - first blog entry. So much to say so little time. so much to do so little time. I hope this serves as a record of the good times we have as a family, the great stuff I hope to create and the pretty pics I would like the world to see. lets all keep our fingers crossed eh!
